On October 3rd and 4th Santa Maria degli Angeli will be holding its traditional celebrations over the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Italy. This year the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy will be offering the votive oil for the lamp at the entrance of the saint's tomb.

On October 3rd at 6.30pm the Teatro Sant'Angelo will be hosting a conference entitled "Ma che ca...cao ci mette la Nesté nel Bacio?!! Il lato oscuro del cioccolato". The conference will be followed by a showing of the documentary The Dark Side of Chocolate, by Danish journalist Miki Mistrati, which investigates the widespread exploitation of children as labourers in the cocoa plantations of the Ivory Coast.
