From April 24th to May 24th the Cantamaggio festival of traditional Umbrian folk singing will run in Terni. As with many of this kind of celebration traditionally held at the start of spring, the Cantamaggio has its roots in pre-Christian spring rites. The songs are intended both as a celebration of the passing of winter and as a wellwishing ritual for the promise of a good harvest.

The Intusse processions of Narni take place on two different Saturdays in May, on the 19th and the 26th. For the occasion the villagers of Itieli, Sant'Urbano and San Faustino make special wooden torches known as intusse and march in procession to where the festivities will begin - dancing, dry biscuits dunked in wine and a tasty lunch.

The itinerary to explore the ancient Castle of Capo La Terra starts from the fortified hamlet of Colleponte, which together with Macenano was once part of the castle. The oldest part of the castle is in fact Macenano, which is reachable along the SS 209 Valnerina. The area is much fortified on account of the important Abbey of San Pietro in Valle, with the surrounding woodland still 'scarred' by a number of clearings once used by charcoal burners.

The cave is in travertine stone, the typical rock found in most of this area's geological formations. Monaldi runs two different options for visiting the cave, one lasting about 1.5 hours suitable also for children, and another that is slightly more demanding and is therefore considered more suitable for adults only.
