The representation is played, in fact, the repetition in some magical way of number four, to underlie the stages of a real transformation of the main character (tetra / MorphoSys, in fact) in order to alchemical stages already mentioned, in turn related to the fourfold Pythagoras (the tetraktys) as well as the phases of the day: four are in fact the moments in which the various scenes unfold dividing the space-time (the blackness of the night, the morning of the albedo, the first of citrinitas afternoon, the sunset or the rubedo).
The transformation, the more real and tangible, is the one that leads the artist through some landings essential, parallel phases of art and life: the most painful introspection (the blackness), the light of a revival of Do (l ' albedo), the quest for harmony (the citrinitas), and finally the conquest of inner fire (the rubedo). The Philosopher's Stone and the alchemical gold are nothing but offshoots of a tangible yearning for knowledge.
