A striking passage from Monte San Vito Plans Gavelli going over this beautiful valley which offers a succession of different environments, from forest to pasture, jealously guarded by a ring of mountains of great beauty: Hermit Monte, Monte Civitella, Monte Birbone Blob Cascarella.
And these mountains sometimes retain some real jewels of historic rarities which only a precious land as Umbria can be found: the Hermitage of San Antonio or the Hermitage is nestled in a ditch on the side of Monte Civitella, where no one could reach if not at the price of a difficult descent, the remains of a Pontifical Mine are on the side of Mount Birbone and you can still appreciate the inputs; many ancient sources and wells dot the area as well as the remains of charcoal , the ruins of pens and houses that bear witness to its past attendance.
