Montone (PG) - Open all year round, the 14th century Church of San Francesco contains frescoes dating from the 16th and 17th centuries and an intarsio wooden choir dating from the 16th century. A permanent display of art and artefacts documenting the history of Montone is also open to the public. Among its highlights is the Bartolomeo Caporali Madonna della Misericordia standard and a 13th century Deposition from the Pieve of San Gregorio in Montone.
Opening hours: October-March, Saturdays and Sundays 10.30-1pm and 3-5.30pm. April-May, Friday-Sunday 10.30-1pm and 3.30-6pm. June-September Friday-Sunday 10.30-1pm and 4-6.30pm.
