On May 15th and 16th Alviano will be holding two days of Medieval festivities devoted to this particular historical moment of splendour for the town and its castle, when it was ruled by Bartolomeo d’Alviano. At 7pm on the 15th the taverns will open serving typical Medieval dishes, while on the 17th from 5pm onwards there will be a procession in period costume followed by the Palio dei Somari joust, in memory of Bartolomeo’s gift of lands and houses to the his serfs.
