Città di Castello (PG) - Europe is the host nation of the 46th edition of the Festival scheduled from 27 August to 7 September 2013. Born in 1968 in Citta di Castello, the Festival of Nations in recent years has hosted musicians, chamber and orchestral ensembles, soloists that have marked the history of Italian and European musical culture.
The decision to dedicate the festival to Europe, instead of a single nation as usual, wants to be a contribution to the revitalization and growth of the idea of ​​a united Europe through the universal language of music.
The influence of Italian music in the eighteenth century, an imprint of Vivaldi and Albinoni on the music of Bach, the great school of Neapolitan piano, chamber music nineteenth century and the mutual influences between the authors of the great symphony, and even the twentieth century with the ' importance of the Vienna School and minimalism for a new generation of European composers.
