Deruta (PG) - The prestigious competition is organized by the National Bank of Taste of Beers, whose organizing committee is composed of representatives of the Association of Industrialists of beer and malt (AssoBirra), the Center of Excellence for Research on Beer, University of Perugia (CERB), the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia, the town of Deruta and the Region of Umbria. The official award ceremony will be held on November 23 at 11 am at the Ceramics Museum of Deruta.
The beers are produced exclusively by breweries with production facilities and head office in the Italian territory. Prizes will be awarded to the best beers high and low fermentation in three geographical areas: North, Central and South and Islands. Two prizes for each area, for a total of 6 awards, assigned to beers that will reach the first place in their respective classes.
The competition will also choose the Italian Beer of the Year: special mention will in fact be assigned to the best tasting beer between those produced by breweries born after 1 January 2011. A special prize, which wants to promote young companies of national excellence.
The winning companies will be rewarded prestigious artistic ceramics made in Deruta and may affix to the specific rosette certifies that this recognition in the back label of the bottle and on their websites.
