Perugia (PG) - The event is scheduled for Friday, June 14, at 18.00, close to Monument to the XX Giugno for the event "Walking is ... participate: Ri - we know the Statute."
On June 14, is the anniversary of Perugia, which was suppressed by papal mercenaries June 20, 1859. For several years, in Perugia, groups of citizens recall the facts of the twentieth June 1859 with an excursion to the places where these events took place: the now traditional Walk XX Giugno.
This year, the Walk XX Giugno, on the initiative of the laboratory ideations civic, takes on a particular aspect: to reflect on contemporary forms of popular participation in the government of the city visiting the places where, over the centuries, has formed the great tradition Democratic town, with its medieval republic to the Risorgimento, the Resistance initiatives Capitini.
The laboratory ideations civic has compared the Municipal Statute of Perugia with some other municipal statutes, to see that if in Perugia today participation is reduced to a minimum, in
other realities, close to us, it is widely expected and normed in forms easy and open. Rediscover the traditions, therefore, may be a glimmer of hope towards a possible future.
