Workshops for schools on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance

Perugia (PG) - The ISUC, Institute for contemporary history of Umbria, on the occasion of the celebration of the "Day of Remembrance" offers schools the province of Perugia two workshops respectively titled: "Human Rights and the Inside Out" and "The project of racist Italy (1936-1938). " These are activities during which children, through attendance of direct documentary sources of breath, general and local, are called to ask about the central issues in the history of the persecution of the Jews.

The first workshop proposes memory materials produced by three witnesses: the drawings of Helga Weissová, child of Prague which was captured in December 1941 and moved to the "City of the Jews," Terezin; fragments of the famous diary written by Anne Frank from January 1942 , date of commencement of its underground; letters of Ada Marchesini Michlstaedter, Jewish Trieste interned in the transit camp Fossoli sent to her husband before her deportation to Auschwitz in August of '44.
The second part of the historiographical assumption that the racial laws enacted by Mussolini in 1938 have had their rehearsal in the racist campaign initiated by the Ethiopian regime during the War of 1935-1936.
