Perugia (PG) - The exhibition entitled "The memory of the XX Giugno banners in the Mutual Aid Society of Perugia", will open Saturday, June 15 at 18 and open to the public June 15 to 23, from 10.30 to 12.30 - from 16, 30 to 19.00. Sunday 10.30 to 12.30.
On June 20, 1909, fifty years after the events of 20 June 1859, the day of the inauguration of the Monument to the Perugia XX Giugno who went in procession to the Pediment on the walls of the village saw the "banners of the twentieth June". They reminded him of the events of June 20, at the exact place where it happened. Subsequently labari were hung up for a few years. Reappeared in 1959, the centennial year, only to be held by private citizens and later handed over to the Society of Mutual Aid of Perugia.
This year the "Workers' Association" decided to bring them back in the village for which they were designed together with the organizing of the Archaeological Superintendence of Umbria, a documentary exhibition in the Sala Ex oratory annexed to the cloister of San Domenico Piazza Giordano Bruno: "The memory of the XX Giugno banners in the Mutual Aid Society of Perugia. "
In addition to the banners will be displayed the old flag of the Charity of Saint Peter painted by Coriolanus Mazzerioli and an illuminated manuscript of the Company that "come home." As will be back in Borgo XX Giugno the banners and fragments of the papal tiara of the XX Giugno monument to Joseph's Finches recovered when it was destroyed to be replaced by a stone.
It will also be possible to see other documents, always related to the events of 20 June, working in the Company's possession, of some of its members and of the Archaeological Superintendence (very interesting transcripts of stories issued by eye-witnesses of the facts of blood in the possession of the Superintendent)
