Assisi (PG) - "Antonio Canova sculptures, paintings and engravings on display in Assisi" is the title of the grand exhibition that will be inaugurated on August 10 in Palazzo Frumentario which will end on January 6, 2014.
The exhibition will offer visitors 60 works including plaster models, models in clay, some marbles, paintings and engravings of the sculptor, painter and architect from the neoclassical Museum and the `Canova Plaster Cast Gallery 'of Possagno.
The exhibition consists of Assisi and is divided into three major themes: the first focuses on religious production, rich in Christian symbolism, the second turns to the story, in which the figures of Pope Pius VII and Napoleon Bonaparte are the poles d ' Attraction of Canova while the third and final issue is the mythologies that covers features of the historical figures and mythological symbolism of the powerful contemporary artist.
