Assisi (PG) - The choir City of Randers and May Music are pleased to present two concerts in Assisi oratorio 'Francesco d'Assisi - Jester of God'. These concerts are special because they are made in the birthplace of St. Francis. The music back home, back to its roots.
Two of the best singers of Denmark, Louise Fribo and Jesper Lundgaard, will be the protagonists of two charity concerts on 19 and 20 October 2013, in the Cathedral of San Rufino in Assisi.
In the same place where the little Francis was baptized 830 years ago.
The concert also take part in the famous bass Jesper Brun-Jensen, soprano Anna Vaupel and tenor Jacob Martini. 70 choir singers City of Randers and the vocal group "Harperne" make up the choir. The choir is conducted by Niels Bastrup.
The musical-oratory has had great success at the Concert Hall in Aarhus (Denmark) in 2010. The music critic of the national newspaper "Jyllands-Posten" gave him six stars, maximum, in a review entitled "Tenure divine."
During the spring of 2012 the show was performed as an oratorio in the churches of Randers and Silkeborg and the Cathedral of Ribe, Denmark. And it is in this form that will be represented in Assisi. In 2013, the musical-oratory will be staged in Vienna in three different places.
Recently, the show has been expanded with two new songs and is now translated into English. Assisi then we will see the first performance of the work in its complete form.
