Perugia (PG) - At the start register for the XXII edition of Hercules Olivario, a prestigious competition dedicated to quality extra virgin olive oil Italian, wanted and organized by the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia, in collaboration with the Ministry Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the Ministry of Economic Development and the support of the Chamber System and National Bodies and Industry Associations.
The Competition is open to oils obtained exclusively from Italian olives, with the opportunity to participate in two distinct categories, that of extra virgin olive oils and that of the virgin PDO and PGI.
To participate you must send all'Unioncamere Regional territorial jurisdiction, including by means of associations and / or chambers, the application form no later than January 18, 2014, in compliance with the requirements of the Regulations.
At each Regional Unioncamere, or at the Chamber of Commerce delegated, will consist of the Regional Commissions tasting, made up on the list of technicians and experts of extra virgin and virgin olive oils, which will elect a maximum of 6 oils representative the region, drawing on the 2 categories.
The oils selected will compete in the final stage of the competition - which as usual will take place in Umbria, this year 23 to 29 March 2014 - during which will be examined by a National Jury consists of 16 tasters, eminent experts in the field .
The Hercules Olivario will be assigned to oils that will get the top two spots in the 2 categories for each of the following types: Light fruity, Fruity, intense fruitiness.
In addition to these prizes will be awarded:
- Special Prize Amphora Olearia oil finalist who will bring the best package according to the parameters established by the Rules
- Special Mention "Organic Olive Oil" to the product certified according to law, that will get the highest score among the finalists organic oils
- Award Lekytos, the foreign personality that stood out for knowledge of the techniques of tasting
- Prize "The Courage to make New Agricultural Enterprises", reserved for the finalists started the last five years
