Open all year round, the documentation centre on Hannibal and the Battle of Lake Trasimene is at Tuoro, within an area of nature reserved known as "il Sodo". A permanent display features artefacts and documents concerning the Second Punic War, and in particular the Battle of Lake Trasimene that saw the Roman army soundly defeated on June 21st 217 BC

The tradition of Irish lace-making was imported to Lake Trasimene by the Marchesa Elena Guglielmi in the early 20th century, as part of a movement to revive Umbria's forgotten crafts that embraced a number of different sectors, from pottery to textiles and even furniture making. The Museo del Merletto is a permanent display and is housed in the Palazzo delle Opere Pie on the Isola Maggiore.

The Giardino dei Lauri is the latest permanent contemporary arts centre to open in Città della Pieve. Founded by collectors Angela and Massimo Lauro as a home for their personal collection of artworks, the permanent collection numbers some 300 pieces by some of the top Italian and international contemporary artists. There are also around 70 installations by promising young artists.
