Magione (PG) - As part of the events organised for the Umbria Water Festival, on May 19th Magione's Teatro Mengoni will be the host venue for a day-long conference devoted to Lake Trasimene, focussing in particular on the recently completed channelling system that connects the lake with the Montedoglio dam near Arezzo.

Battle of Lake Trasimene Documentation Centre

Tuoro sul Trasimeno (PG) - Open all year round, the documentation centre on Hannibal and the Battle of Lake Trasimene is at Tuoro, within an area of nature reserved known as "il Sodo". A permanent display features artefacts and documents concerning the Second Punic War, and in particular the Battle of Lake Trasimene that saw the Roman army soundly defeated on June 21st 217 BC

Museo del Merletto

Tuoro sul Trasimeno (PG) - The tradition of Irish lace-making was imported to Lake Trasimene by the Marchesa Elena Guglielmi in the early 20th century, as part of a movement to revive Umbria's forgotten crafts that embraced a number of different sectors, from pottery to textiles and even furniture making. Piegaro (PG) - Open all year round, Piegaro's Museo del Vetro occupies a former glass factory dating from the early years of the 19th century which was completely restored to its former glory in 1989. Giardino dei Lauri

Città della Pieve (PG) - The Giardino dei Lauri is the latest permanent contemporary arts centre to open in Città della Pieve. Founded by collectors Angela and Massimo Lauro as a home for their personal collection of artworks, the permanent collection numbers some 300 pieces by some of the top Italian and international contemporary artists. There are also around 70 installations by promising young artists. Free admission. Open Fridays and Saturdays 10am-1pm and 3.30-6.30pm.
