Luciano Fancelli, already established in 1980 and discontinued 24 years ago. From 27 to 29 June 2013, the fraction
Foligno Capodacqua hosts the international accordion competition that will challenge young
musical talents from 10 to 24 years on the scores of the most famous Fancelli, making resurface his memory in the places where he learned to play during the war. The award is sponsored by the city of Foligno and organized by the cultural association "Luciano Fancelli" has always taken, along with the
family of the musician, memory Fancelli and its artistic productions, from music to
recordings, from the diaries to oil paintings of landscapes of Umbria.
For three days, Foligno became the capital of the accordion, thanks to the presence of many young
entered the competition from all over Italy and abroad, who will be selected by a jury composed of
important names in contemporary music, such as the accordionist Vladimir Zubytsky, President
of the jury, Ivano Battiston, Corrado Rojac, Paul Vignani, Marco Gatti.
The candidates are divided into 7 categories based on age, will have the chance to win prizes from 150 to 500 euro in vouchers, and for the overall winner, concert contracts for more than 2 thousand euro.
The selections of accordionists will be held on June 27 and 28, while 29 will be announced the winners of the competition. Everything will take place in the picturesque setting of Capodacqua, where there will be, on the edge of the competition, numerous concerts, an exhibition of handwritten scores by Fancelli, along with his other artistic productions, and, finally, an exhibition of the accordion.
