Assisi (PG) - After the great success enjoyed in the past, this year the FAI - Italian Environmental Fund offers a special way to spend the holidays in the spring. On the occasion of Liberation Day, Friday, April 25, from 10 to 19, the Wood will be provided in all its pristine beauty for a picnic in nature: an original way to celebrate with family and friends.
Glades, olive groves, the undergrowth and the picnic area will be the perfect place to spread a tablecloth and a picnic like old times. It will be possible to follow the paths of the forest and park in large areas, to picnic that do not involve the lighting of fires, maybe buying a tasty packed lunch on site and relax in the peace of the forest, between games and other activities outdoors. Alternatively, you can grant a stop at the Osteria del Mulino, for a festive lunch at the base of Umbrian specialties.
It will also be possible to make a special visit to delve into the history of the Forest and its restoration by the FAI with a reading theme linked to the feast in progress, together with the Director Luca Chiarini. The departure is scheduled at 11 am from the Basilica; at the end, there will be a tasting of olive oil, lime syrup, honey and jams.
