Gubbio (PG) - In the period 20 July to 6 August 2013 Gubbio hosts the 24th edition of the Summer Festival: international event which every year sees as protagonists famous musicians, teachers and concert artists, and countless young talents from all over the world. A rich program where you happen lectures, seminars, musical workshops, concerts in places full of history and charm.
To start this set of emotions "musical", Saturday, July 20, which will be the opening concert of the festival will be held at St. Peter the complex at 21.15 and the protagonists will be the violinist O. Semchuk and pianist A. Tardino.
The second meeting will be Monday, July 22, again at 21.15, but this time in Gualdo Tadino, at the church of San Francesco (part of the Museums of the city, with beautiful frescoes by Matteo da Gualdo) to will entertain the violist R. Zamuner accompanied on the piano by his mother M. Sbeglia Zamuner.
Tuesday, July 23 will be the turn of "The Magic Flute", at 21.15, at the Church of the Whites of Gubbio: This last is a sacred building remained closed for more than twenty years' and reopened to the public in 2010. Here the protagonists are M. Caroli (flute), G. Francesconi (flute), R. Lagana (harpsichord).
Wednesday, July 24, at 21.15, the concert series moves to Moat Vico, at the incredible Auditorium S. Christopher, which will be inaugurated in this beautiful occasion, where G. Manci (soprano) and C. Brizi (harmonium-celesta) will give us a wonderful "Homage to Verdi."
Also at the Refectory of San Pietro di Gubbio, Thursday, July 25 will be held at 21.15 the concert F. Wasser, "The masterpieces for piano" founder and artistic director of major music festivals, is a member of international juries of prestigious piano competitions and teaches piano and chamber music in Berlin, taking masterclasses throughout Europe.
Friday, July 26, at 21.15, at the church of S. Francesco in Costacciaro will be the turn of "The young talents of Gubbio Summer Festival" that will give us an evening of excitement thanks to the participation of the flutist G. Marta: artistic director and lecturer at various institutions, concert boasts an experience of the highest level, both in Italy and abroad, having worked among others with the Symphony Orchestra of the RAI in Rome and with the opera company of the masters M . Rinaldi and F. Valeri.
Thus we come to the end of this first week of the festival and Saturday, July 27, at the Rocca Flea (home of the museum) of Gualdo Tadino, will once again be the young talents to give us proof of their admirable ability at 21.15, an impressive musical interlude for piano four hands held by the masters A. Cutting boards and R. Genitoni. Sunday, July 28, however, the sax will be the protagonist of the evening at 21.15, also at the church of S. Peter in Gubbio, we will have the opportunity to hear the extraordinary qualities of D. Ugly (sax) and F. Farinelli (piano).
Let's move on to the events of the second week of the festival and the event is scheduled for Monday, July 29, at 21.15, at the church of St. Giovanni di Gubbio for the striking performance of the choir of St. Mary's Church in Nottingham, conducted by J. Keys for 21 years.
We continue Tuesday, July 30 with a concert by "The strings of the soul: the romantic violin" which, once again at the church of S. Peter in Gubbio, will feature the duo father / son Felice (violin) and Dario Cusano (piano), both musicians of the highest level with a prestigious academic career as a concert and behind.
Wednesday, July 31 at 2115 it was the turn of a concert dedicated to the cello, an instrument that feel strongly enhanced by the ability of the master virtuoso G. Gnocchi.
The square clock Pietralunga however, will be the right setting for the "Tango Under the Stars" that, Thursday, Aug. 1 will perform at 2115 F. Fury bandoneon and A. Deiana the guitar bandoneisti considered among the best in Europe, Fury boasts countless performances in the most important concert halls of the world, for its part, Deiana has been a soloist in many orchestras, including Mainzer Kammerorchester, the chamber orchestra of Frankfurt and the symphony orchestra of the theater Saint Michel in Brussels, adding to everything as a teacher.
Friday, August 2 at 2115 the musical event will again take place at the complex S. Peter of Gubbio and the protagonists will be V. Kuleshov on violin and E. Skovorodnikov the piano: these fantastic musicians have performances, both in duo and in other formations, in the most prestigious concert halls in the world and the critics have always called their "touch" elegant and refined, full of passion and incredible virtuosity.
Always at the complex S. Peter, at 18, Saturday, August 3rd we will have the pleasure of attending an interesting lecture on violin making, in collaboration with its violin making school of Gubbio founded in 1978 and today, thanks to the constant support of the municipality, allows a course of training every two years, the evening will continue at 21, 10, with an unmissable concert that will take place over the undisputed talents of F. Galieni (violin), A. Bosacchi (piano), A. Iannetta (cello) and L. Venditti (piano).
Sunday, August 4 will be the Diocesan Museum of Gubbio which will, at 21.15, a splendid concert with the theme "The Baroque, between whisks of reed and brass rings", starring the baroque ensemble "The Harmonious Blacksmith".
Will not miss even the last two concerts of the music festival: Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th August, at 20.50, at the complex S. Peter of Gubbio, will be held on "The grand finale of the Festival", which, in two rounds, will take place over the voices of the best students in the opera this year.
