Assisi (PG) - On 9 June 2013 to 18 at the Cultural Society Arnaldo Fortini in S. Francis, is expected to be submitted, in collaboration with the constituency Umbria Amnesty International, the book Dossier controlled freedom. Police, political power and movement for civil and human rights (1945-2000) by Andrea Maori, published in 2012.
Thanks to a long process of archival research, Andrea Maori has collected documents that demonstrate how, starting from 1945, the police have always been monitoring the birth and activities of movements for human and civil rights in our country. Characters very different, but share the same commitment, each with its own sensitivity and passion for the development of human and civil rights in Italy have been controlled, supervised and filed, together with the organizations that have directed. A surveillance often discreet intended to monitor the activities and submit reports to the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior.
Participants will include:
- Elizabeth Campus, an activist of Amnesty International. It is responsible for coordinating America north of the Italian section of the movement.
- Andrea Maori, author of the book. A graduate in political science and archivist graduate, has devoted years to the promotion of public and private archives. His research has been directed in recent years to the study of cards police.
