Terni (TR) - From April 24th to May 24th the Cantamaggio festival of traditional Umbrian folk singing will run in Terni. As with many of this kind of celebration traditionally held at the start of spring, the Cantamaggio has its roots in pre-Christian spring rites. The songs are intended both as a celebration of the passing of winter and as a wellwishing ritual for the promise of a good harvest.
