Umbria Jazz 2013 in Perugia, from 5 July to 14 July

Perugia (PG) -
There are many Festivals that have had the impact of Umbria Jazz on the history not only strictly musical but also social and customs of a country. When he was born in 1973 was only an attempt to match the passion of some jazz 's lovers with the needs of a region that wanted to know their territorial wealth.

No one could imagine the weight that this event would exert on the Italian music scene, and beyond. Today Umbria Jazz is a brand known and appreciated all over the world, a fundamental objective of the career for any artist, a true benchmark in the world of music and music festivals.

Since the first edition much has changed, but not the spirit and identity which, together with the quality of the artistic proposals have made the fortune of the event. A Festival confirms the trend that started a few years: music for all but three hundred and sixty degrees with jazz and soul inextricably linked to the history of this extraordinary music.

To confirm this, the fortieth anniversary edition of the billboard has a diverse and many souls who will try to summarize the varied paths of music, presenting to the public, as well as jazz in its many forms, including pop, soul, reggae, blues and contamination unpublished. On stage at Umbria Jazz 13 will alternate cult artists and emerging young artists, icons and monuments of black music, jazz musicians to the test with new projects and absolutely fascinating.

The main location is the ' Arena Santa Giuliana where the big names will have space, then the Morley Theatre, dedicated to the more orthodox jazz. An absolute novelty will be concerts at Palazzo della Penna, in collaboration with Young Jazz and City of Foligno, a return instead to the National Gallery of Umbria, the Podiani room, with the concerts of "Jazz Goes to the Museum." Combination of music and food and finally the Bottega del Vino at Restaurant La Taverna for cocktails, brunches and dinners. Finally, there are open spaces free of charge: Piazza IV Novembre and Giardini Carducci.

It is the Umbria Jazz represents continuity with the past, a dutiful tribute to a formula that has created the "case" Umbria Jazz in the entertainment world and in costume. Last but not least the traditional street parade.

The miracle of Umbria Jazz was ultimately to have created a popular event, from large numbers and the strong resonance immersed in an environment which has no absolutely unique in the world and that makes it unique and unrepeatable.
