Magione (PG) - The ninth edition of the Trasimeno Music Festival will be held from June 29 to July 5, 2013 in the suggestive frame of the Castle of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Magione, the Abbey of San Pietro in Perugia, and the Church of San Domenico in Gubbio.
The TMF, organized by the association, in collaboration with the municipality of Magione
and under the artistic direction of the Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, offers the public seven concerts with major national and international performers, unique music events, designed specially for the occasion.
The festival, which already counted by the national and foreign press as "one of the most prestigious festivals in Europe", in this month of May it was the crowning achievement as "one of the best music festivals in Italy" by the prestigious American magazine "Travel & Leisure Magazine" http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/best-italian-music-festivals.
Hewitt, for this year called: the Orchestra della Toscana conducted by Hannu Lintu, the soprano Barbara Hannigan, violinist Chloë Hanslip, clarinetist Mark Simpson, cellist Oliver Coates, the Mandelring Quartet, writer and composer Julian Barnes Michael Berkeley.
The originality of the festival is given by the choice of Hewitt to invite a dialogue and musicians of great prestige with talented young people, in a calm, careful appreciated by viewers from around the world.
The Festival opens at the Castle of the Knights of Malta in Magione June 29, with a recital devoted to Schubert, Beethoven, Ravel, Liszt and proposed by the artistic director of the Festival, the pianist Angela Hewitt. Renowned for his performances around the world, the artist always offers programs
that highlight its great versatility on the piano. In this concert will present
Valses Nobles Schubert and Ravel's Valses Nobles et sentimentales, the penultimate sonata
Beethoven (Op. 110) and one of the greatest masterpieces of all time, the Sonata in B Minor
Franz Liszt.
The Association Trasimeno Music Festival, as every year, provides opportunities for special pricing and reduced as shown below:
