Todi (Pg). From July 11th to 25th Todi will be hosting the 2010 Italian hot air balloon ‘grnd prix’ at Ponte Naia, with roughly 45 participants from all over Europe and the United States (Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the US, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria and France). Every morning at 6.30am the green hills surrounding Todi will be punctuated by colourful balloons rising up in the first warm air of the day, all competing for the Franco Todini International Memorial Cup.
Outside of the scheduled racing times, most balloon crews will be offering rides to the public – prior booking required – at a cost of €70. Besides a series of other events, the “Caccia alla Volpe in Mongolfiera” hot air balloon ‘fox hunt’ will see all participants trying to catch up with one head starter.
On July 14th at 9.30pm there will be a night balloon flight, with various balloons setting off from various points around the city.
