The “Pane, prosciutto e fantasia” celebration of quality local produce will run once more in Preci, immersed in the magical landscape of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, on July 17th and 18th, with the cellars in the old town centre offering visitors a dazzling array of specialities that range from IGP denomination Norcia prosciutto to Monteleone spelt, IGP denomination Castelluccio lentils, honey, cheeses, trout, saffron, biscuits, wine, olive oil and truffles.
Among the other events scheduled, there will be the unusual “Chi la fa più lunga” contest involving master norcini cured meat specialists vying to see who can cut the longest slice of ham – by hand, obviously. There will also be a revival of ancient and forgotten crafts and, for the little ones, a farm and open air laboratory where they can play at making bread, sausages and ricotta cheese.
