Foligno (Pg). Foligno's popular Quintana joust will be disputed this year on June 11th and 12th, with the city's ten districts sending their knights in for a second run in September. Each rider is required to put all his skills to the test and run his lance through a series of progressively smaller rings hanging from the outstretched arm of a wooden statue - the Quintana.
Besides the joust itself, this is also a great celebration of the Baroque, when Foligno was a big player on the political and cultural scene in Central Italy beginning with the issue of the first ever printed edition of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy.
