Castiglione del Lago (PG) - From 9 to 13 April 2014, the 48th edition of the festival with floats, parade and the prize of the tulip.
The Tulip Festival is held in Castiglione del Lago in 1956, when some Dutch families, who had purchased the land for growing bulbs in the vicinity of the lake, moved to the country also the custom to celebrate the arrival of spring decorating windows, balconies and small wagons with the first flower, that is too short to be sold.
The parade of floats, set up by the five districts and exclusively decorated with tulips, is the highlight of the event, which will include the opening of taverns, games in period dress of Ascanio della Corgna, the decoration of shop windows, windows , balconies, squares and alleys.
