Corciano (PG) - The picturesque fishing town of Corciano Corciano this year will be the stage of the Festival, August 3 to 18, 2013, a rich alchemy of performances and talks on art, theater, music and the memory of their origins.
VISUAL ARTS SECTION
The visual arts section of this new edition of Corciano Festival is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the place in the Parish Church of the Assumption by Perugino.
The Church-Museum of San Francesco houses from 20 July to 20 October 2013, the show WITH GOLD AND PRECIOUS AND GOOD COLOR. Perugino Corciano. From 1513 to 2013. The five years of Assumption. In the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta, in addition, you can attend the hypothesis reconstructive and architectural projection of the party wall of the sixteenth-century wooden altarpiece by Perugino. Even the usual annual exhibition of contemporary artists of the festival was conceived and organized to pay tribute to this important event.
MUSIC SECTION
Vistuosismi 800 is the title of the opening concert of the Festival on the evening of 3 August in Piazza Coragino.
Music entertainment, sometimes new invention, but more often with melodies echoing motifs from the opera repertory and more popular with predominant virtuosity and good taste have always been dear to denizens of the living rooms. It will be featured Corciano Festival Ensemble, musical education was established in 2007 on the initiative of Andrea Franceschelli as a "complex in residence" and, also, as a bearer of the musical culture of Corciano in the world.
SECTION "I HEART LIVING DE L'Umbria"
The Section provides recognition to outstanding personalities from the world of culture and entertainment who have chosen Umbria as a permanent residence or as a place where shelter to work, meditate, rest. A second native land that, instead of the first, has been chosen and, therefore, is more loved.
The initiative is meant to be a recognition of this "happy immigration" which reconfirms the Umbria as a land of serenity and beauty, giving her outside, notoriety and fame, and, at the same time, it promotes the cultural, artistic, scientific and literary.
SECTION THEATRE
Back to Corciano Festival Theatre Farneto proposing a return in grand style at the street theater renewing contemporary look with the suggestions that have formed the back line of the long and fascinating collaboration with Corciano. The playwright and director Maurizio Schmidt presents a project created on the occasion of the five hundredth anniversary of the Altarpiece of the Banner of Corciano: FESTIVAL THEATRE FOR Pietro Perugino.
Two shows happening: "Mistero Buffo" by Dario Fo and "The Mandrake" by Niccolo Machiavelli, two shows "popular" for actors, musicians and four projections of paintings by Perugino in the square and along Coragino the Acropolis of Corciano .
SECTION LITERATURE AND POETRY
Continues this year the fusion between music and literature and poetry by the two curators of music and literature sections Andrea Franceschelli unstressed and Carlo Ponti. The Theatre of the Philharmonic hosts the evening "For five hundred years of Pala del Perugino", composers today write inspired by the Opera and the Character with critical-literary texts on Perugino by Carlo A. Bridges.
