On May 6th the great ceri totems that will be borne in a frantic race uphill during the Festa dei Ceri on May 15th will be descending the mountain from the Basilica of St Ubaldo into Gubbio, in preparation for the major festivity. Until the day of the race the ceri will be kept in the Sala dell'Arengo of Palazzo dei Consoli.

On May 6th the 9th edition of the Sergio Lispi memorial bike marathon will be disputed in San Pellegrino. Participants are kindly requested to turn up at 9.30am in Piazza Federico II to complete all the necessary paperwork. There will be two itineraries, one over 65 kilometres and the other - more of a nature bike ride - over 29 kilometres.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Filarmonica della Scala, on May 7th at 7.45pm the Politeama Clarici cinema will be screening a live, high definition concert directly from La Scala in Milan. Andrea Battistoni will be conducting the orchestra, with Alexander Romanovsky on the piano. The orchestra will play Rachmaninov's Variations on a Theme by Paganini and the 2nd Symphony.
